This year is already looking incredibly promising for the music industry! As time goes on, more and more artists are expounding on the boundaries of what it means to truly create, and fans get to reap the culture-changing benefits.

Calling himself “the most important artist of the 21st century,” The-Dream has finally released his short film project “Genesis.” The film is self-directed by The-Dream, and contains 10 new songs from the singer/songwriter. It seems that with this new project, we’ll be entering a new era of music from The-Dream as he reinvents himself once again with his musical direction. The film premiered today  exclusively on TIDAL, and the otherworldly visuals give us a new side of The-Dream that we weren’t sure existed. “Genesis” lives up to the name of its creator, in the way it “explores variations of his random dreams represented as symbols, the face of his soul, and the conflict within himself.”

“This visual art project was created to give fans a glimpse of my daily thoughts,” The-Dream says in a press release. “I can never fully explain what I see and what I hear separately, it must be fused into one. Music IS art to me, those who try to forever separate the two is someone who wants music or art to stand still and not evolve.”

Rapper Wiz Khalifa even stops by on the track “Virtuous.” When asked on Twitter if the project was to be an album, The-Dream responds, “It’s everything.” The-Dream is embarking on the “Genesis” tour in February to give everyone a taste of his new sound.
