Whether you’re a die hard basketball fan or not you can’t think of the game without thinking of Michael Jordan. The retired Chicago Bulls All Star and University of North Carolina alumn has been taking over the game of basketball since the mid-1980s. In 1984 the Jordan Brand was born with the first Air Jordan 1 model basketball sneaker. The then young Jordan teamed up with Nike and forever changed the basketball sneaker industry and the sneaker industry entirely.

In honor of the legend’s 52 birthday that was earlier this week BleacherReport delivered a tribute video to honor not only Jordon himself but his long line of signature sneakers from the first Jordan 1 to today’s Jordan XX9Michael Jordan may no longer run up and down a basketball court but his name and that signature jump man can be seen on the shoes of many of our favorite college and NBA players today. Check out the video below! Personally my favorite Air Jordan sneakers are the classic OG Jordan 1s.
