She’s back! Reminisce Smith, better known as Remy Ma has finally finished her excruciatingly long 8 year bid at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility in New York. Today, Hot 97 reported that Remy had been released from prison at around 8 a.m. Remy was convicted of assault, illegal weapon possession, and attempted coercion in 2008 following a shooting at a Manhattan nightclub in 2007. She had an interview with Power 105’s Angie Martinez earlier this month, where she talk about her plans for once she gets out and revealed that she has plenty of new music on the way. Many people are expecting a beef between two highly successful female rappers, and Remy put all those concerns to rest. Remy has always given major props to Nicki Minaj on what she’s been releasing, and Nicki has done several interviews with Hot 97 and other outlets saying she can’t wait to work with Remy as well. Remy was quoted saying,

“Nick has always been a supporter and vice versa,” Remy said. “I like what she does. She’s done wonderful things for females, but I just wish there was more of them”

Welcome home, Ma.

UPDATED: Miss Info reports that Remy has been in solitary confinement for the last week due to a fight on July 21st, and officials at the prison hadn’t yet reviewed the infraction. Due to the fact the paperwork hadn’t been processed, they have delayed her release until they go over it. There has been no date or tentative timeline given. We’ll keep you updated.
