By now, almost everyone has heard Drake‘s July “Hotline Bling” single, but (un)surprisingly, not many people have heard the original song from which “HB” is smapled, D.R.A.M.‘s “Cha Cha” single which released in March of this year.

Now, Virginia rapper D.R.A.M. has spoken out over the success of “Hotline Bling,” saying that he thinks Drizzy jacked him for his sound. On Monday (10/19) as Drake released his music video for his now worldwide single, D.R.A.M. ironically had a show in his hometown of Toronto, after which he took to Twitter to voice his frustrations about the seemingly endless comparisons between the two artists.

He writes:

“Just performed in Toronto for the 1st time tonight and it was bittersweet. Sweet cus I’m out here sharing my music, my sound with the people.. Bitter though, cus after my performance all I’m seeing is Cha Cha/Hotline Bling comparisons on my timeline.”

But where does Drake come in? As D.R.A.M. also very bluntly put it, “Yeah, I feel I got jacked for my record…But I’m GOOD.” Yikes. We’ll watch and see how this one unravels.
