Pharrell Williams has just been granted the highest honor in the fashion industry by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), Fashion Icon of the Year! The CFDA presents its fashion awards annually to the top designers, models, journalists and contributors in the fashion industry, holding this year’s nomination gala at the Weather Room at Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center in New York City. President Diane Von Furstenburg announced Pharrell as the winner of the award saying,

“If cool was a person, it would be Pharrell, not just for his looks and sense of style but for his kindness and openness. I cannot imagine anyone not seduced by him.”

Pharrell is definitely a leader in the fashion industry with his own brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Footwear, as well as designing apparel for adidas for a number of years, and who can forget how he made waves in 2014 with his infamous Vivienne Westwood hat (which also earned him a shout-out from Arby‘s). Pharrell is the second male in the history of the organization to win the award, with actor Johnny Depp being the first in 2012. Last year, Rihanna blew us all away when she took home the same award, in a stunning Swarovski crystal embellished dress.
