Earlier this week, we caught up with Mike Zombie for a special performance in his hometown of Willingboro, NJ at the town’s annual community Jazz Fest!

Performing to over 2,300 members of his community, Mike Zombie started his set with new favorites from his sophomore album, Humble Genius, giving the crowd tons of energy all throughout the 100+ degree weather.

Accompanied by DJ D-Nellz, the crowd of familiar faces and smiles rocked along with Mike Zombie even harder as he finished up his set with his claims to fame, DJ Khaled & crew’s “They Don’t Love You No More,” and of course, Drake‘s “Started From The Bottom.” By this time, the less-than-hip members of the crowd had woken up and realized just who was in front of them, leading many festival goers to remark on how inspired they were that Zombie was actually claiming Willingboro, and not a more notable nearby city.

During his performance, the “Savior of 609” took the time to thank his supporters, friends, and family that were all in attendance. Nobody that’s made it out of Willingboro has done more for the town than Mike Zombie, who among other things, has thrown charity events and gotten celebrity endorsements for the town’s recreational sports teams. If you didn’t know, it’s just another reason to keep up.
