Frequent project partners, Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), are joining forces again as they embark on their next film! Does this sound like a comic book intro? We hope so, because actor Michael B. Jordan is the latest addition to the cast of Marvel‘s upcoming Black Panther movie!

Ryan Coogler was very vocal about the idea that Black Panther, which will be the first comic book movie fronted by a black superhero, needs to be made by a black director. Now, Coogler has his wish as the first black director in the Marvel franchise, along with a familiar face in his cast.

The Hollywood Reporter says:

“It is unclear whom Jordan would play, but one source told THR that it could be a villain. Marvel had no comment.”

The film is slated to premier in February 2018. Jordan will be joining star Chadwick Boseman, and Lupita Nyong’o, who is rumored to be cast in the film as well.
