Kendrick Lamar’s sophomore album, To Pimp a Butterfly was leaked on iTunes last night. How this happened on iTunes of all places, who knows but the clean version is only available as of right now. The album will be officially released via iTunes on March 23rd. Since the leak, Lamar tweeted: “Keep calm. All is well.” and then he tweeted the link to where fans could pre-order the official album. We have waited since 2012 for another Kendrick Lamar masterpiece so I think I can wait a few more days.

UPDATE via (P&P):

Top Dawg CEO Anthony Tiffith blamed Interscope for “fucking up the release,” but Kendrick tweeted soon after: “Keep calm. All is well.” He then shared a link to the explicit version of the album on iTunes.

It’s still not entirely clear, but today (3/16), To Pimp a Butterfly has been taken down from iTunes and is back to pre-order status. It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, because now a lot of people already have the album in full, but that’s the current status. Some are joking (or are they?) about iTunes “selling out” of copies.
