Jidenna is back to the streets with a new album dropping TOMORROW (11/10)! The “Classic Man” that we all fell in love with two summers ago is back again with a new EP titled Boomerang, and it’s one of the most artistically well-thought out and cohesive projects put out this year.

In Boomerang, Jidenna brings listeners back to his home country of Nigeria, and blends too many styles of rap and contemporary hip-hop to name. Features include Nigerian powerhouse artists like Tiwa Savage, Dot Cromwell, Maleek Berry, Burna Boy, and he reaches across the aisle to welcome Ghanaian artist Sardokie, as well as MigosQuavo, and Wale.

BOOMERANG combines African, Caribbean, and Black culture on all 6 tracks, making the EP incredibly diverse and well-rounded for its listeners (No, seriously. There’s a Naija/trap mix on here!). The production, beating to life with sounds of the motherland, contains moods of love and lust, partying and physicality. This is an EP you’re going to want to dance all day to — whether your style is Milly Rock or Swange (and if you listen to the “Bambi” Remix, you can probably do both). In our opinion, the spirit of the album isn’t even the title track, but the incredibly energetic and re-worked version “A Little Bit More” featuring Burna Boy. The project opens and closes with a woman threatening Jidenna in a mixture of Haitian Kreyol & English, but if Jidenna has anything to say about it…she’ll be coming right back.

Jidenna released his debut album The Chief earlier this year, with mega-hit “The Let Out,” and we’re glad that he decided to drop back in again before we get to 2018.
