Brooklyn native, Joey Bada$$ released his highly anticipated debut album, B4.DA.$$, on Tuesday, January 20th along with seasoned artists, Lil Wayne and Lupe Fiasco with Wayne dropping Sorry 4 the Wait 2 and Fiasco’s Tetsuo & Youth. The rookie rapper surpassed bother veterans selling 53,990 copies within the first week of the album’s release making B$.DA.$$ the highest selling hip hop album on the Billboard Top 200.

The official Soundscan numbers have been released for the week ending on January 25th and Bada$$ is ranked at #5 on the charts.  Lupe Fiasco slides into the Top 20 with his newest album ranking at #14 for the week. Nicki Minaj’s third studio album The Pinkprint released in mid-December hung on to the #6 spot and J.Cole’s popular Forest Hills Drive fell out of the Top 10 for the first time since its release on December 9th but 22,501 units were sold last week bringing the total sales to 708,494.
