Sean "Diddy" Combs, Jay Z, & Jermaine Dupri

It’s that time of year again! Every year, Forbes Magazine compiles a list of the country’s wealthiest people. The list takes into account a subject’s earnings from June of the previous year (2014 in this case) to June of this year.

We have a newcomer in this year’s Top 5 list: Drake! Who’s honestly surprised? With a stellar album in “Nothing Was The Same” last year, to giving us a surprise album this year,,and now hitting a three-peat with a joint album with Future, this guy is unstoppable. And…who’s to say that little riff with Meek wasn’t particularly lucrative? We’re just sayin’…

Here’s what Forbes had to say about this year’s list:

“We consider pretax income from touring, record sales, streaming, publishing, merchandise sales, endorsements and other business ventures. Management, agent and attorney fees are not deducted. Earnings are calculated from June 2014 to June 2015 and based on data from Nielsen SoundScan, Pollstar, the RIAA and from interviews with managers, lawyers, executives and a handful of the artists themselves.”
