gossip-girl-logoIn 2007 Gossip Girl the series burst on to the small screen. It was modeled after the novel series of the same name. There was something different about this series, it was the first to be based on  the spoiled and lavish lives of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The story was told by a behind the scenes blogger using social media to comment on the lives of those involved. It came in the era of social media, when sites like Twitter, and Facebook were really starting to make a name for themselves.

However, that wasn’t all this show did. It ushered in a new way to view fashion, to make it accessible to those who didn’t have the access. While the show’s fashion was high in quality, the style was easily obtainable. I can speak from personal experience when I say the show inspired me and inspired much of my closet today. While at first it began as mocking what the characters wore, now it’s more of a lingering reminder of how I want to live and what I need to do to obtain that lifestyle.

In 2012 Gossip Girl ended and left a void of such inspiration on television. While some speculate that The Royals on E! will fill that gap, but with only two episodes down that remains to be seen. Fear not, the Internet is vast and filled with inspiration. Below is a list of fashion blogs that inspire me, not only in fashion, but in the trade of living. Hope you all enjoy them as much as I do.
