UK-based retailer Footpatrol has teamed up with Asics for a take at the latter’s famed Kayano model. Named after its designer, the Asics GEL Kayano Trainer dropped in 1993, and has since been revered as the spark that started one of the most successful lines of running shoes. You know Asics held it down with all the latest tech specs of the day; visible THETA GEL in the heel, porous P-GEL in the forefoot, and skeletal logo stripes along the sides for support that went along with the mesh, synthetic suede, & Coolmax uppers for ultimate performance.

Footpatrol kept the silhouette close to its original inception, but drew inspiration from army surplus equipment to bring it up to date a bit. Rutsacks and technical packs served as a starting point due to their nylon strapping, waterproofing, molded materials and color palettes.

The Footpatrol x Asics – Gel Kayano Trainer mixes luxurious materials with classic technical features to create a one of a kind release. Oh, and the durable water resistant suede? Something tells us you’ll be needing that during these next few months. It will be available at UBIQ tomorrow December 6th 10AM in-store and 11AM ONLINE (pending availability). Retail is set at $140.
