Lifetime is out to redeem themselves after the fiasco that was the made-for-TV Aaliyah movie. Making up for their last travesty is Lifetime’s upcoming original biopic production based on the life of Whitney Houston. Yaya DaCosta is a casting director’s dream as the spitting image of the late Whitney Houston, who tragically left us two years ago. The network announced this week that the film, directed by Angela Bassett, will officially premiere next year on January 17, 2015. Arlen Escarpeta plays the key role in Whitney’s tumultous love life, R&B’s original bad boy, Bobby Brown. Check out a few movie stills and behind-the-scenes photos below.
