Fetty Wap sat down with REVOLT last month at Hot 97′s “Who’s Next?” showcase, talking to the network about how he went from growing up in Paterson, to becoming one of the highest played artists on New York radio. Fetty Wap dished on how his breakout single “Trap Queen” was born, his upcoming mixtape, and how he got to be part of the Dipset Reunion Tour spearheaded by Funk Flex.

On the magic of “Trap Queen”:

“I just listened to the beat, and I was vibin’ to it. I was like ‘woah, I gotta lay this down’. I never wrote any words to it. When I first did it, I just freestyled with it. I did the three verses, no format or nothin’. Everybody heard it and just went crazy”.

On his debut mixtape:

“I’m just working on my mixtape, Fetty Wap: The Mixtape. This is so everyone can get a feel for who Fetty Wap is, what field I’m in. Once I drop that, I feel like a lot of people are going to catch wind real soon.”

On his addition to the Dipset Tour:

“Flex plays it about 4 times back to back. We’re just locking in the dates right now. I’ll officially be on the tour.”
