This certainly will not be worn on the runway!

Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana

After selling the famous brand to the Luxembourg-based company, Gado, in 2004, Dolce and Gabbana were convicted of tax crime. It’s been reported that the transaction was made to avoid paying dues owed in Italy.

E! quotes on Italy’s fines

which has been hard up for cash thanks to the ongoing economic crisis in the Euro zone.

Both Dolce & Gabbana designers, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce, were sentenced to 18 months in jail for tax evasion. They shall consider themselves a tad lucky considering a few months time was knocked off due to the statute of limitations Italian law. 18 months is better than 20! This legal action took place in Italy by an Italian appeals court today. It’s been reported the charges consisted of  the two hiding more than a few million euros from Italian tax authorities.

However, they aren’t the only ones in trouble, Dolce and Gabbana’s accountant, Luciano Patellito, was given the exact sentence!

Boy, oh Boy.
