Chaz French - True Colours Album Art

Chaz French, newest signee of ThreeSixEight/Motown/Capitol Records and rising D.C. rapper, is excited to announce the release of his debut studio album, True Colors, out July 14th, 2017. The blockbuster 17-track album showcases Chaz’s natural rap talent and affinity for smart word play and cutting bars. Please see below for a full tracklisting and to pre-order the album, click here. Speaking to Complex, Chaz had this to say about his debut project:

“This album feels like a ride though my city, at the same time taking a journey through my experiences and emotions up to this point in my young rap career. DC hasn’t had many chances to have our voice heard on a large platform up until this point in hip hop. When ThreeSixEight got my deal at Motown, that meant DC got a deal too. This isn’t just about me, it’s about the city and the world hearing our voice. No matter if we come from the same walk of life, if you’re from DC I want you to feel like you were a part of making this album because life in this city was, and will always be my inspiration.”

Listen to “POPS” produced by the homie JohnG. Beats below! The album features a slew of Chaz’s rapper and artist friends including Cassey Veggies, Curren$y, BJ The Chicago Kid and more.

The poignant track, which premiered via Complex, spotlights issues of mass incarceration and Chaz’s own relationship with a father who was in and out of prison. “Mass incarceration and the drug abuse that happened during this time left many households without fathers. I couldn’t fully understand why my Dad wasn’t around growing up for extended periods of time, but now I get it and I forgive,” said Chaz.
