THE-AMAZING-SPIDER-MAN-2Last night, Alicia Keys sent out this cryptic tweet revealing an upcoming collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer. Though the attached Twitpic pretty much let the cat out the bag, it has now been revealed that the record, titled “It’s On Again,” will be one of the main songs featured on the upcoming Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.

“I’m very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams and Hans Zimmer,” Keys said in a release statement about the record. “This is the next chapter in the Spider-Man legacy and we really feel ‘It’s On Again’ captures the experience, the story — and most importantly — the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary. There’s a little bit of a super hero in all of us.”

Performed mostly by Keys and K. Dot, the song will be one of the many records scored by Zimmer and the Magnificent Six: Pharrell, Johnny Marr, Incubus’ Mike Einzinger, Junkie XL, Andrew Kawczynski and Steve Mazzaro.

“When we came together to form a band to create the music of this film, we did the opposite of what composers usually do — we wrote songs, and from the songs came the themes,” Zimmer explained. “We embraced a rock ‘n’ roll ethos on this movie, and it paid off.”

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters nationwide on May 2nd, while the motion picture soundtrack arrives on April 22nd. The soundtrack will also feature appearances from The Neighbourhood, Pharrell, Alivin Risk and more.

There’s no word on whether or not Keys and K. Dot’s collab will be liberated prior to the OST hitting shelves.
